Experience: Inspired by the bustling street-side eateries that are the daily pit stops among hungry people in India, Bengal Brothers brings India’s famous kati rolls and rice bowls to Hong Kong. Opened in September 2021, it’s of of the better take-away options in Wan Chai. The kati roll was invented in 1932 in Calcutta, where juicy meats and vegetables were wrapped in a flakey paratha flatbread. Bengal Brothers is a partnership between Delhi natives Tanvir Bhasin and Vidur Yadav (previously New Punjab Club and Rajasthan Rifles) and a result of missing home. The shop has 4 seats only and there’s a click-and-mortar system that enables customers to order ahead and quick self-service. Good Indian food has never been this easy.
Kiki & Amèl’s favourites: Paneer Kati Roll \ Poppadum \ Mango chutney. We’re coming back to try the rice bowl and sweet potato chaat.
Address: Bengal Brothers | 9 Johnston Road, Wan Chai.
